Moalboal Earthquake 6.9 magnitude 2/6/12 - Southwest Cebu

We all know that our area in Southwest Cebu cannot have those tsunamis like in Japan but things were different that day. Tsunamis cannot be produced because our islands in our area are too close enough. Tsunamis will only be in large body of water. But again because of people rushing around you, you cannot stop thinking, what's going on?

This is my story submitted to this site. Thanks to the owner of this site.

It was about lunch when the floor of our house shook for about 25 to 30 seconds. We moved outside and we saw everyone around us panicked.

We prepared the car and went to higher grounds.
We saw many neighbors packed up and preparing for departure to higher grounds.

Another family in the higher ground

People with bags of rice
Ready for the hardships
Children are so panicky
Packed up and still confused

I saw two strangers
Strangers not from our native land
Foreigners I see
People from Europe having vacation

Caught up in the calamity...
Tsunami in our place was coming
So everybody was preparing
Bringing their survival things
What a sad and gloomy to look at

On a house distant to our place
We park to take a rest
That house full of evacuee
From lower lands they flee for protection

Then in front of our car
I saw a mat and a bag
This is the time to get ready

Everyone is praying...God hear our prayers!

Tsunami, please don't come here.

Videos right after the earthquake 2/6/12

In Panagsama beach, Moalboal Cebu

Ignorance can create panic. Know about earthquake. see here!

Another spot in Panagsama Beach, Moalboal Cebu...As you can see the waves are not that high like in Japan.

See the epicenter of the earthquake in Negros-Cebu...in Tanon Strait

Earthquake 6.9 magnitude 2/6/12 - Gihulngan, Negros Oriental

Another false alarm about tsunami in Cebu City...I heard a man in motorbike with megaphone announcing that the sea water is now in Colon...or water is now in Carbon marker...or water is now in Pasil...
