Quick Travel Tips and Guide around Philippines

One of the seven wonders of the world, located in Palawan - This is the Puerto Princesa Underground River

Philippines is a great place to visit for vacation and family travel around a cheap and tropical country. There are many nice places to visit. There are very lots of useful online travel pages to do with Philippine trips. If you are a man, it is fairly safe for you to travel in Philippines except for the southern island of Mindanao. If you are a woman, it is not safe to travel alone in Philippines, unless you know the culture. The Philippines is not a place you can back pack practically. There are many inexpensive places to stay Pension Houses or small resorts typically charge as little as $20.00 USD a night. Most local food is very good and inexpensive especially seafood and fruit. Budget a $100.00 USD a day for five star accommodations but you could spend less or much more just depends on what you do and the places you stay in.

The Filipino people generally are the nicest you will find any place on earth especially outside of the major cities. The countryside is called the “Provinces” and this is the nicest place to visit because the people are very friendly or sometimes somewhat shy.

Don’t bring expensive electronic toys or jewelry and use your ATM card. Another tip is that never ever keep large amount of cash on your pocket or bag. Use an ATM to get enough cash to keep you going a few days at a time. Most medium sized towns have a bank with an ATM machine. Be sure to get cash before Friday as that is payday and the machines will have long lines and run out of money throughout the weekend.

Use common sense for safety, do not travel at night and do not ever interact with drunk Filipinos to avoid trouble. One thing, avoid policemen even because even if you are a victim of a minor crime, you could be accused of doing higher crimes.. Some foreigners are scammers as are a few Filipinos so that is why never ever exchange money with someone on the street but only in a bank or any official and secure money exchange establishment.
